Pig Health Improvement Project
The pig health revolution has begun
As of July 2011 the Pig Health Improvement Project (PHIP) was launched giving all producers chance to join this industry-wide drive to improve pig health. It builds from the successes of producers taking part in regional projects in Yorkshire & Humberside, East Anglia and East Midlands. The aim is to assist producers in taking a more collaborative approach to pig health with the help of vets and allied industries

The PHIP big five
The Pig Health Improvement Project is offering five useful services which can help producers achieve their health improvement goals
BPEX Pig Health Scheme (BPHS) Reports - an invaluable tool for vets and producers to receive advance warning of sub-clinical disease issues
Local Health Mapping - enabling producers to access the health status of farms in their local area who also register with the project
Bespoke Biosecurity Action Plans - formulated with your vet will help to reduce the risk of unwanted disease entering your farm
Disease Testing - support can be provided for groups of producers and accessed with the help of your vet
Regional Support - dedicated BPEX staff are on hand to help you meet your health targets and support group activities in your area
Meeting Dates in your area
Cluster meetings are currently taking place where groups of like minded producers get together to discuss health in their community. If you would like to be involved in a meeting, please contact us at pighealth@bpex.ahdb.org.uk or call us on 0247 647 8877
